Signs You May Need to Repair Your Roof

It’s not always obvious that you need a roof repair. In many cases, damage can accumulate over time and by the time you notice a leak or condensation in your attic, the damage has already been done. However, some signs you could need to repair your roof include:

• Damage from a recent hailstorm. Hail damage can impact all types of roofs. You won’t know damage has occurred unless you have a professional inspect your roof following a hailstorm. Summit Renovation provides free roof inspections if you suspect you could have hail damage.
• Water damage. A leak is an obvious sign of roof damage, but you may also be seeing condensation or water damage on ceilings, walls and/or the chimney.
• Bare shingles. Asphalt shingles that are missing the majority of their protective granule coating are no longer able to properly do their job, and may need to be repaired or replaced.
• Missing shingles. If you find shingles in your yard following a storm, that means there are unprotected areas on your roof.
